“If you develop an ear for sounds that are musical it is like developing an ego. You begin to refuse sounds that are not musical and that way cut yourself off from a good deal of experience.”
― John Cage
This is Phonography.
I spent a lot my time on trains this year traveling through France. There is some creative energy in traveling so I started working on new songs.
All the samples are little souvenirs I brought back home through my music. Some were recorded in Paris (Souvenir), some in Merlins magic forest (Diapason). Every song is telling its own little story like an audible photo.
I hope you are enjoying this.

Sample credits go to all those beautiful people on the streets of Paris and Rennes, who unknowingly performed on this record. Sorry for stealing your lovely music. And thanks for letting me share your moment of musical joy.
Production, mixing, mastering, all guitars and additional instruments done by myself.
Album artwork was done by Julika Schlegel and I am incredibly thankful for her effort and love. Not to forget Laura Hinz' help with it as well.
Also I would like to thank Alexander Lübbe for his support with the engineering and his advise.
